It has been years since I have been active on this board. It seems to have changed...Max left...is he back? It seems so calm, not many posts! Where is The Original Mary...Jetset...Derrick...the Brit that frequently boiled me in oil, the other Brit that introduced me to the term ...punter.

Back then...the stuff that happens flew everywhere. Max hated it but, there were some brilliant posts....all of it simply needed a firm hand. Max would love this...sleepy, dormant...indolence at low velocity...Pllease don't be offended...others, I'm sure, like the slow pace...I have attempted to introduce other threads...and I have not been successful...they simply disappear. That is why I suspect that Max is back...he called me a PITA...and I had to ask him what a Pita was...He could use some PITA(s) on this board...on this day...and tomorrow...

Not sad that Max is gone...I'm sad that he left so few behind...

And I'm wondering how a board that was so alive...could have devolved into this moribund status? Maybe when Max became so rigid, so resistant to recognizing the unique point of view, so inflexible...things toned down, became boring and eventually...meaningless. I am just speculating...

But, in the day...this board pulsated...you could measure a personality with full definition simply by reading their posts..there was The Original Mary combining an ability to state the truth simply, reasonably and, totally without malice while revealing the flaw in a seemingly flawless argument, Caruso flexing his verbal muscles while disparaging those ill equipped to compete with him....in his estimation, on any level....and poor Derrick, obviously intelligent, a survivor of Compton... the constant target of ridicule because he could not write four words without misspelling three of them...and Derrick, with Herculean effort laboriously (one could tell), ultimately improving both his spelling and his grammar...

I agreed with some....disagreed with others....respected most...except one portal owner, female, so easily read as self serving, aggressively defensive, combative to the extreme...and always wrong...I will research it and come up with a name that she signed in under...signin...kind of rings a bell...
