Is Party Poker Rigged to produce certain outcomes ... such as when a short stack player goes all in against a big stack?
I have been playing there for about 3 months now and it seems that the number of "river" kills is very very high. Also it seems that when a short stack player goes all in against a bigg stack player with far superior hole cards the bigger stack will out draw the short stack 90%+ of the time. Ive been short stacked with AA went all in and been called with 39o only to see a flop of 39Q ... its just crazy the number of apparent badbeats that Party Poker produces ... ARE all the online poker rooms the same? I want to make sure Im not playing at one that riggs the outcomes to favor certain players ... |

I've played at Party Poker and other online poker rooms - I don't see Party or any other being rigged, as it would produce no real benefit to them.
They aren't all the same in terms of features, but they are similar for the most part. You can try out others and you might find you like one over another, but I wouldn't go looking for another room due to thinking Party is "rigged". |

No real benefit? Are you kidding me?
Its so rigged it aint funny! So why you ask would they want to have the big stacks favored in all in matchups? Well because it would get the losing short stack into another game quicker - cycle the players in and out of games as quickly as possible gets them more money! When you see 3-6 river kills a game and short stacks going in and losing against big stacks with far superior hands only to lose - something just isnt right. Im going to withdrawal my monies and stick to landbased games! |

"something just isnt right"
Yes, you don't understand poker. Poker is math. 2 to 1 favorites lose all the time. So do 7 to 1 favorites. It's common. Learn to deal with it or take up a different game. |

Make sure it's not a game for money though.
The odds will always be there otherwise why would you play - who gambles to break even? |

YES - its common for favorites to lose - but its not common for them to lose at the rate that they do ... and in the situations they occur most. And yes - I have a very good understanding of the game. I also have a very good understanding of greed, old-timers, wanna-bes, wanderers, and vagabonds. |

Of course it is. It would be very simple for you to show what you pretend is happening: get a Geocities page and post 1000 consecutive hand histories that show anything "funny". In the history of online poker people who don't know poker very well come in waving their arms about "bad beats" and other nonsense, but they never, ever, EVER take the one simple step of providing any evidence. This is because of two reasons. One, these sort of people don't keep hand histories. They prefer to content themselves with a fantasy world of arm-waving. And two, posting 1000 consecutive hand histories would almost certainly be definitive evidence not of "bad beats" but of bad poker playing. If you believe what you say, put up your last 1000 hands and show us. 1000 hands wouldn't "prove" anything, but it is something tangible that is neither crying nor arm-waving. You, sir, must be kidding yourself if you don't think Party Poker is rigged for what I call, "Rake-a-Romas." The table I was at last night had 5 flushes within the first 22 hands on my counter...6 of the 22 were straights (of which 4 hit on the river). In short, there is no doubt the hands are rigged to make more rake-a-roma hands...how many times you see AA vs KK vs 22 in your home games? I saw it 3 times last night...5/22 flushes...you are so smart...you do the math. |

Wow, within the first 22 hands eh. What about by the end of your session, not so many I take it? Did you watch poker million last night, in 3 hands (they were back to back, not any edited out) the same players were heads up from a 6 player table with AKs v AKs, AT v QQ & KK v AA where the KK of Mad Marty made a boat on the turn to knock Ross Boatman out Real cards are fixed! Oh wait a minute, this is sponsored by Ladbrokes so they must fix real cards too ![]() |

One thing I would consider is why would they be rigged? As the largest by a massive margin, online poker room...
I have seen few complaints about the giant regarding rigging and surely there would be a prominent outcry if this were so? I can't see the benefit of some dodgy trickery vs. a massive and hence $ valuable operation. Now, if you are talking about streaks, I don't think there is a poker player alive that hasn't got several stories about good and bad runs. ![]() |
