Austrian online gambling provider Interwetten AG has announced that its Interapuestas.com brand will be the main sponsor of Spanish soccer team Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona next season.

Interwetten’s Spanish online gaming brand has been an associate sponsor of the La Liga club, known as Espanyol, since 2004. As the main sponsor, Interapuestas.com’s logo will now appear on all official clothing and merchandise from the team as well as on banners and advertisement hoardings around the club's new 40,000-seat stadium.

The Vienna-based firm stated that the deal would also see the two working together to promote socially responsible gambling practices including a series of special programs over the next 18 months.

Espanyol finished twelfth in the Spanish top flight last year and becomes the fourth team in the country to be sponsored by an online gaming brand alongside Sevilla, Real Madrid and Miapuesta.
