WARNING: CON stole my deposit and closed my account
Casino-On-Net, which used to be considered one of the classiest and most trusted casinos, has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. I would warn everyone to be wary of playing there. They closed my account and refuse to return my balance to me. It could happen to you. Here is the situation:
The reason they give for closing my account is that I played too many promo's. These are promo's which they continued to invite me to take part in by email. Now it is true that lately I have mostly been playing promo's there, however, prior to that I made numerous non-promo deposts and frequently lost them while gambling. The issue is not that they closed my account. Any casino has a right to bar players and refuse their business. But Casino-On-Net has flat out told me they will not be giving me the money rightfully due me. It is pure theft, and it could happen to anyone that they deem to be undesirable. I know of others who have had their accounts closed as well. I have a balance of $61.50 in my casino account which they say they are within their rights to keep. It was hard to believe that Casino-On-Net would act so disgracefully over such a small amount. Here is the email I received from Casino-On-Net and the following discourse that took place regarding the money they are keeping from me. "Dear Aceshigh, This is Chris Dell, Assistant Manager of the Security Department at Cassava Enterprises Ltd. I am writing to you in regards with your Casino-on-net account. Your account history shows that majority of your deposits were made to our casino during the promotional periods (events). Keeping this in mind, I would like to let you know that we run the promotional events to the enjoyment of our loyal members who play regularly and to them these events are extra fun. They wager their deposits and our bonuses and then, cashout their winnings. The deposit pattern from your account shows deposits made only during the promotions and usually your wagering is limited close to the minimum required by our bonus policy. We consider this to be abuse of our generosity and have therefore decided to close your account. I apologize for any inconvenience however I must ask that you please refrain from opening any new accounts with us as they too will be blocked. Also note, in the event you do open any new accounts your deposits will not be refunded. Regards, Chris Dell Assistant Manager Security Department Cassava Enterprises Ltd." My reply: "I cannot disagree more, if you check your records you will see that while I have been primarily playing promotions recently, prior to that I made many many non promo deposits and played (and frequently lost). No matter. If you do not want my business that is your perogative, and you are well within your rights to do that. However, I would like to receive the money due me from my account. I believe it is only fair I receive the amount of my last deposit back to me ($100). Prior to this "Security Check", I received an offer inviting me to participate in the promo and decided to do so in good faith, meeting the conditions that you set out. I hope that Casino-On-Net will act with class in this matter, befitting the reputation you have garnered over the years. Thank you and I look forward to your response. Regards, Aceshigh" I then received: "Hello, I am Aaron Jones of the Security Department. I am writing in response to the email which you sent to us, regarding the closure of your account. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. But as my colleague mentioned, it was noted that your account was only active during promotional events. This type of wagering is not accepted in our Casino, therefore, your account was closed. Unfortunately, we will be unable to refund any monies to you, in regards to this matter. I apologize for the inconvenience I must ask that you please refrain from opening any new accounts with us as they too will be blocked. Also note, in the event you do open any new accounts your deposits will not be refunded. Regards, Aaron Jones Security Supervisor Security@cassava.net Cassava Enterprises Ltd." I replied again: "I had monies in my account when you closed it. If you refuse to return the balance of my account to me that is outright theft! I can't believe that Casino-On-Net would do this. Refusing to allow me to play there anymore is allowable. However confiscating my money is most certainly not." Their last email: "This is Mackensie Hewitt from the Security Department at Cassava Enterprises Ltd. Please note that you have cashed out more than you have deposited on the account of abusing our bonus policy. Therefore, any remaining funds in your casino bankroll will not be available to you under no circumstances. Once again we ask that you refrain from opening any further accounts with us as they too will be blocked and your deposit not refunded. Sincerely, Mackensie Hewitt Security Supervisor Cassava Enterprises Ltd. security@cassava.net" So since my overall cashins at CON are higher than the amount of my deposits, it's supposedly okay for them to keep whatever money I had in my account when they closed it. I always wagered in excess of what was required for bonuses from them and on several occasions lost the bonus with my own money as well. Be very careful with this place. There are other places out there to play where you don't have to worry about being treated this way. If anyone here needs more information regarding this matter I will post again and provide it. WARNING: CON stole my deposit and closed my account
It seems kind of ridiculous that a casino as large as Casino on Net would spend the time and resources to screw a player out of $100.
Good luck, man. Let us know how it turns out. |
WARNING: CON stole my deposit and closed my account
This is as ridiculous as a supermarket banning a shopper because they only come to redeem the Sunday coupons.
Why do you produce the coupons?--to attract the buyer that is incremental and it adds to your normal customer base. And suppose this particular supermarket has the vast percentage of the available shoppers to begin with?--What can drive them to such heights of stupidity, that they would shun the very "extra" business they tried to attract in the first place. It's because the Acme manager across the hall bitched that his income has grown of late, but that the new customers are too smart to be dealt with. They follow all the rules, and manage to save money on their overall food needs. They must be driven of an evil seed, and need to be exorcised! And the empire begins to crumble. |

WOW. I'm almost speechless. I used to be a big fan of CON, but unlike some people here, the whole Reef Club incident put a permanent bad taste in my mouth about CON as well... they are related and are now proving their dishonesty further. If those emails are real (and I do trust they are), this is an outrage. I will never give CON my business again. Stealing a player's money while locking the account IS theft. I feel for you, too. You should file a complaint with the OPA if you can't get it resolved directly through them. Or perhaps Gambling Grumbles. I hope their good name gets flushed after a stunt like this, if they refuse to resolve it.

Assuming this is all true (and the Emails lead me to believe you are being very open about this situation). This is very unlike Casino-on-Net. In fact, it is the opposite of how they have always conducted business.
Apparently you are a long term winner at CON, but that doesn't give them the right to keep your remaining funds. As you've stated, and as any CON player knows, CON will send multiple Emails urging players to take advantage of their promotions. Since CON is located in Antigua, you may want to try filing a complaint there. I doubt it will do much good, but it is worth a try. Good luck and file an OPA complaint. CON, you may want to reconsider your decision on this one (unless there is something we aren’t being told.) [This message has been edited by Dirk_Dangerous (edited 09-16-2002).] |
WARNING: CON stole my deposit and closed my account
Now that the OPA has terminated Reef Club's membership, I am hoping the OPA will terminate CON's membership too.
If you check the new OPA's website, you'll see Cassava has violated the casino "code of ethics". Ofcourse, the player must first file a complaint. Let's see if Cassava does the right thing, when faced with losing its approved status. |
WARNING: CON stole my deposit and closed my account
I am staying far away from CON until they get this worked out responsibly.
I have hope that once the higher management gets word of this they'll correct things. |
WARNING: CON stole my deposit and closed my account
After Reef's Club's actions and CON's lies about ownership of Reef Club did you really expect CON to be far behind in starting to rip off players? Not me. I could see it coming.

WARNING: CON stole my deposit and closed my account
I also think this is not good from any casino, if this really has happened.
The casino should allways abide by its bonus terms and conditions. Otherwise its no good to make terms and conditions, they just could say we have every right to steal your money and lock your account. I currently hope my last cashin at con will be processed. If this issue you are talking about will be solved, i think i will be stopping all my large deposits at con for atleast a while, to see what the results are. In my mind if you have wagered the wagering requirements you should be paid fully. -kavaman |
WARNING: CON stole my deposit and closed my account
Considering the millions thay paid out for 007, that they would risk such dreadful publicity for the sake of a couple of dollars is extraordinary. Makes no sense whatsoever.
Has the CON management changed? It doesn't seem like Vahe could be in charge of something like this, and it DOES sound like JUST the sort of thing our old friend Eric The Shark from Greef Club would pull. |
