View Thread : Casablanca Gaming/WagerWeb

I was chatting this morning with one of the folks assisting me with my Crystal Palace/RTG dispute, and he told me that a site called WagerWeb powered by Casablanca Gaming was a very reputable group. (He frequents their sportsbook primarily, but he does play at their casino as well, and said it appeared the payback %'s were "quite reasonable"....)
The reason I bring this up here, is that I never heard of them, and I told him I would querie the folks "in the know" here at Winneronline.
So.....any info - pro or con - about this outfit?
Thanks.

Wagerweb has been around for ages and is primarily sportsbook oriented, so SBR is a good reference here:

They've had some player problems - see here:

I think the parent group Casablanca Gaming was originally BetCBS but they had to change their branding to BetCG after litigation was threatened a couple years back by CBS Broadcasting in the States.
Other related sites include: 24-7wager, BetASB, BetDon, BetGrand, Betitup, BetOEG, BetOSB, BetOSI, BetOSS, BetPine, BetPS, BetTiger, BetMac, BetUltimate, Pacific Sportsbook, TheSportsMill and of course WagerWeb.
Wagerweb featured in an article that received fairly wide distribution on DDoS attacks - it was one of the victims.
I think the software in use is ASI.

Casablanca Gaming have taken at least 3 games from inventors without either asking or paying any form of royalties.
That makes them unreptutable in my book.

That sounds like a good news story, Geoff - do you have any links to these claims?

Hi Jetset
I downloaded their software as a colleague of mine told me that 'Blackjack Switch' was on their site. They do have it and instead of the Wizard logo they use a top hat with stars. Also, they only pay a miserly 10/1 for '4 of a kind' on the 'Super Match' bet (should be 50/1).
The other, non-licensed games they have, that I am aware of, are 'Casino Hold'Em Poker' and a progressive on their 'Carribean Stud' game.
Any company that avoids paying any licensing fees may, in my opinion, hold the same viewpoint towards other payments.
Unfortunately, IMO, operators who act in this way could help to widen the rift towards any resolution over the USA. All land-based games, in America, that are provided using intellectual property, are licensed and paid for by the casinos that install them. If software providers believe that they are above the law on this because it is Internet based, then it creates another crucial difference between land and Internet providers and heightens the view that proper legislation is difficult to implement on the Internet.

Thanks, we'll follow this up...I am in general agreement with your other thoughts here.

Thanks Jetset. Let me know if you need any further information for your enquiries.
Are you going to 'ICE' ?
Jetset
Definitely - I missed last year due to family commitments, but it's a regular on my personal calendar.

It would be nice to meet up. I'll be around Shuffle Master's stand for most of the exhibition, as they are exhibiting my new game 'Blackjack Press', so look out for me or leave a message with someone on the stand.

Noted - I'll do that.

I agree.
A place that lacks ethics regarding payments is just that.
Anyone who does business with them, software providers, marketers, players, the cleaning lady - beware.
