Your access to the PM system has been suspended. If i recall correctly you were spamming people via PMs and that is strictly prohibited here.

Could you please send me that evidence via email? I can not access my send box, but am extremely interested in learning about the offending material.

If you do not wish to forward me the info, could you please review my send box quickly? I can assure you I do not spam.

I have a really good gut feeling who is behind it, but want to confirm those suspicions.

Sorry, we don't keep detailed records of these things (we do have 1000s of members after all) so you'll have to take my word for it. As far as checking your Send box goes the simple truth is that we can't. They wouldn't be very private if we could.

Let's try it this way: I'll re-enable your account for PM usage now. If you ever spam via PM in the future or misuse the PM facility for whatever reason you'll lose those rights permanently and you'll be suspended from the message boards to boot.

That will be fine, however I assure you that I have not been involved with any sort of spamming campaign using your private messaging facilities.

Having just checked my sentbox; I have sent a total of 2 pms, one to ian_go which was a press release in December of 2005, and another to a previous associate back in July of 2005.

Based on timing the December PM may have triggered this reprimand; but it was not spam; so I am not sure. At that time I had assumed ian_go was interested in news stories and had sent him a press release. If it was not that PM that was the cause, then someone is filing false reports; which is regrettable.

That alone is a reason to catalog reports of abuse; so that those accused might have an opportunity to face their accusers.

May I ask that you please delete this thread? It may give some the impression that I or my group is involved with spamming; which is not the case.

Thank you for your suggestions about how we should manage our system but I think we'll leave things as they are for the time being.

As to deleting this thread I think not. A number of issues have come up here that I believe are worthwhile and should remain visible. I think you've explained your situation quite clearly so I don't think there'll be any confusion there.

Yup, for some reason you got flipped into a weird mode when your "vacation" expired. In that mode you had restricted access to the PMs.
