Hello Everyone!! (I hope I don't have many typos...if I do...sorry...I'll go back and edit tomorrow if I am able to edit them...
Let me say, I really enjoy reading here...but don't post much, except about cash-ins, money holds, etc. Blah! Blah! Blah! Blah!
So I wanted to change that but was afraid to talk about this subject, (seeing it's rarer around here) but I hope I get a receptive audience who likes slots and are knowledgeable in "any" way possible because this interests me and I love to play slots, but I like to win sometimes too!! :) Some of you only play BJ, Poker, etc., but I can't help it...I could kill anyone at Rummy (Ha! but much cheaper sport in my case)...so PLEASE don't "mock" :p me because I never learned how to be an expert poker player, blackjack player, etc. Slots are so fun to me! But had I ever learned how to play poker, I think I would have been good at it...being my father's daughter IF you knew him...but I never did learn...just Rummy! Ha!
All about SLOTS???
Well, I've been searching all the time here for any advice/information from people who play online, so I hope you don't mind me posting this here because I just don't see that much advice on slots...and that's what I enjoy playing...I could play my heart out...(bad mistake...first "no no.") Since I recognize that there aren't as many people here discussing slots, I would love to talk about and to discuss strategies if others are willing to share. Forgive me if I make no sense or make you laugh, (I certainly am NO pro as you can tell)...just searching for input and wanting to share ideas and I've always loved slots, especially when they were brought online.
Some of you, as I just posted on another thread, are amazing to me with your knowledge and know-how of some of the other games to me. But I sort of feel silly because slots are just about placing your bet and pulling the wheel...but is there strategy. I believe there's some...but really good strategy is what I am wanting to know.
As far as slots go, I HAVE read a few winning strategies HERE, although I would love to read more. One thing I think I read here was about doubling your money: This can become most players worst pitfalls, one of the "queen of slot pitfalls": not realizing that doubling your money is a win. So here's an idea I ponder since I heard "You double it, then you cash out: So, say I have doubled my money...do I cash out and call it a day...quit all together...and be proud of my winnings? (I do notice that IF that machine is tired of giving IF it does double, WHAM!, the money goes very quickly down to nothing) Or if I want to play some more, is it best to cash my winnings in and make another deposit, a smaller one to make sure I still have some winnings. Or is it best possibly to play at another casino and hope for the same luck?...would it matter if it were the sister site of the casino where I won? I know you can argue you can play all night IF you want to spend the money...but what are the pros and cons of this? Cash in and leave...or redeposit a smaller amount and try again at the same casino or wish for luck at another one...is it all Lady Luck? I do have some good luck in doubling when I do play at my favorite casinos...I rarely cash-in and make another deposit from my account, except a couple of times after a cash-in, but I can't remember if it was like starting over on a new game. If you've won there...should you even attempt to start over from scratch and push your luck?
I know that if you do double your money, it's so tempting when you go to another slot and/or see a jackpot and wonder what the odds are and know that there's no chance in "Iraq" that you'll ever win it...I know some do hit the jackpot online, but I've personally never seen that person ONLY in a banner...I would REALLY love to hit an online jackpot...who wouldn't, I suppose...what a thrill? Plus it's hard to want to stop when you just started IF you are lucky enough to double your money. I do realize that control is so important in slots.
I also read that you should NEVER cash in then take that money back and play with it. Well, I've done that several times and many times I've had my bigger winnings, so for me, maybe it's the casino? I say this because I did the same at another casino and it killed me instantly...it played awfully after I did that.
Slots are SO unpredictable, although I've seen a pattern or two that I can go by, like on the Fantastic 7s, but nothing with the other slots I love to play. When the 7s line up on the bottom or the top row, eventually I hit three sevens...or a decent win...but a few times it has wanted to take me down WAY too far before it gave them to me...only teasing me...but it usually does pay something when I see that line-up
Anyway, again, I've searched here before and was surprised that I never found as much on this subject, but IF anyone is interested I would love to hear some ideas/superstitions (I have those, too). I feel so dumbfounded, yet intrigued, by the PROS here who play all the other games so I am out in left field on some of these other games, so I figured I could at least talk about my little, silly slots.
If you know of any secrets/helpful hints that help with slots and don't mind sharing, I'd love to hear them. My favorite games: I prefer the three reel slots other than a couple of others: here's my favorites...Fantastic 7s, High Five, MegaSpin High Five, (sometime) Double Magic, Cash Splash, Lots of Loot (sp??), WoW Pot (it's "okay")... I don't play the five reel or anything like that, except for one multi-reel slot, which kills me every time, Lots of Loot...(I call it Lots of Losers)!
Some things I've gathered to share also:
I was reading something about helpful hints that I have read here and there and thought I would also add these. What do you think of these?
1. Regular Slots or "Straight" Slots offer the most realistic odds.
2. A Slot machine with more reels give you the chance to win more money.
3. Don't always place the same bet...have a strategy so you don't do this! The up the steps method or the elastic method are popular. Like, IF you start by betting one coin and then you win, you then increase the bet another coin, and if the winning continues, then you increase it all the way to the to the maximum play. Only play Maximum coins when you are winning. Drop the bet to a middle bet if you start losing.
If this continues, drop to the minimum bet. IF the cycle repeats itself and you start to win, increase your bet until you get to the maximum bet until you start to lose again.
4. Don't play "catch up" from what you lost the night before!!!
Well, as for
#1, I do like these the best...so that's good. The simpler the better for me!
#2. I have only recently found this to be true for me, but I can lose a lot quicker also. So I have to pace myself with this one.
3. ANY ideas on this one? This is ONE I would LOVE to hear about, also because I don't like to change my bet that often...scares me. I thought it always ruined any streak of luck I was having (as it has...but I don't go up and down quite as often as above states), but then again, maybe I went to the maximum bet, got frustrated (a great way of losing), and stayed with the higher bet until the nightmare was over.
4. I do agree that greed or "catch up" also can be a reason why many lose many times. So many times I may win but then I remember how much I lost the day before and I chase that down...and down I go! I have done that SO many times! That is definitely something that I have tried to remember and I think I read that on this forum. This is something I learned is a truth overall!
Nevertheless, when I lose, I do have that drive to keep playing because I like to play and don't want the game to end. I could say it's not always because of the winning factor (although subliminally I would think that more winning is the biggest factor and would only be fooling myself if I didn't): Proof: after winning, I could always go to a cheaper slot and bet a penny but then the excitement for me would be taken away, but yet hopefully would make me want to quit, which is what I need sometimes. Self-control!!! Yes! So winning has to be MY biggest factor if betting a penny is as dull to me as skipping rocks. I admit!!!
I'd also like to know about what I mentioned above: If you WIN at one casino at slots...should you cash out and move on to another casino if that playing drive is still in you? I do notice duplicate winners at the same casino, but not as often. IF I win a nice amount and cash out (which isn't often enough), I feel like I am jinxed the next time I play at that casino... It seems the slots play worse for me.
Superstitions I have:
1. When I hit a decent hit on a particular game, usually it start to go down, so I leave the game and play another one; then I come back to it. I've noticed that helps pick up speed.
2. When I've hit a winner that's decent, I've also shut down the casino (and gone so far as to restart my computer) and then gone back to the same game...like the gaming software will forget who I am! Ha!
3. I get scared to change my bet, unless I spin one reel so it stays at that bet, the run from that game and go to another one, OR shut down the software and restart the computer. (Well, this is more for humor...not that bad, but IT COULD happen with me.)
4. IF my husband walks into the room (I'm not supposed to be playing at all) ...for some reason that software KNOWS he's there and I lose worse than ever! Ha! Actually, I turn the casino off so fast and start e-mailing a friend, while I try so hard to calm my nerves, resenting him because I was on a ROLL! I just know would have hit the Mega Millions or whatever, had he not walked in! Just kidding. Then he says..."Are you typing so and so, an ex-boyfriend?"
With all those quirky superstitions, I am sure I have more...I probably don't even realize I have some.
Okay...so I am superstitious...but so many men do the same during the playoffs! Ha!
Anyway, I hope to hear some strategies on cashing out, going back to the same casino, going up and down on your bet, switching to another casino, or any other ideas or quirky superstitions!
Thanks for reading my post!!!!
